SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Slick roads Sunday night may be to blame for a crash on George’s Road that has left a county woman in critical condition, police said.
According to police, the accident took place at 8:17 p.m. Crash at 8:17pm Sunday night on George’s Road near Sarah Court.
A vehicle traveling north on Georges Road left the roadway and struck several large landscaping rocks, became airborne, then struck a fire hydrant and flipped over, landing in the driveway of a home, police said.
The female driver, identified only as a Middlesex County woman, was trapped in the vehicle as neighbors rushed to render aid.
The Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad transported the woman to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where she is listed in critical condition with multiple injuries.
The Monmouth Junction Fire Department also responded.
George’s Road was closed for four hours as police investigated the crash.
South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau is investigating the cause of the crash including speed and weather conditions, police said.
