SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Commuters are facing a couple of traffic woes this evening as two separate crashes between 6-7 p.m. have closed some busy traffic routes, police said.

A one-car accident on Ridge Road near Indian Fields Elementary School involved a car and a utility pole and wires are currently down across the road, causing the road to be closed between the Five Corners intersection in Dayton and Route 535, police said.

A second accident took out the traffic signal box at the intersection of Route 130 south and Route 522, Capt. Jim Ryan said.

There is one injury in that crash and emergency crews were on the way to the scene around 7:45 p.m.

Ryan said the traffic light at the intersection could be out for several hours as repairs are made to the signal box.

Motorists are asked to avoid both areas.
