SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 25 the sirens began blaring as the Spotswood Volunteer Fire Department rushed to Samantha Way. Before long, a call would go out to Helmetta, Monroe and East Brunswick Fire Departments to assist in containing the house fire at the home of Cynthia and Rob Alongi. By 2:54 p.m. reports from Breaking News Network indicated that the bulk of the fire had been extinguished, but not before the blaze claimed all of the family's belongings.

All five family members are safe and unharmed according to a Go Fund Me page that was set up yesterday in response to the devasation suffered by the Spotswood family. The Alongis have three boys under the age of 12.

The Go Fund Me page is calling on Spotswood residents as well as other concerned citizens to assist the family as they "get back on their feet." People can donate to the fund via the Go Fund Me page.
