Traffic Stop on Route 18 Leads to Drug Arrests

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ  -  On January 14, 2017 at 11:28pm, Ptl. Dennis Chieffo arrested two adult males for possession of 2.89 ounces of cocaine, 204 Alprazolam (Xanax) pills, 48 oxycodone pills, 126 grams of marijuana and hash oil following a motor vehicle stop.    

Ptl. Chieffo stopped a black 2008 Honda Civic at Route 18 and Cindy Way for Careless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane and Disregard of a Traffic Control Device.  During the course of the motor vehicle stop, Ptl. Chieffo detected the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle and a search of the vehicle revealed the cocaine, Xanax, marijuana and the hash oil. 

The two adults, Jamil Boykin, 23, of Piscataway, NJ and John Peri-Okonny, 28, of Monmouth Junction, NJ were charged with 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance,  Possession of Marijuana over 50 grams, Possession of Hashish, Possession with Intent to Distribute and Possession with Intent to Distribute in a School Zone. 

Both males were processed and transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center.
