EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - East Brunswick Boy Scout Troop 223 is proud to announce the advancement of Tyler Waite to the rank of Eagle Scout. Tyler is the 76th Eagle Scout for Troop 223. He will formally be presented with this honor at a ceremony scheduled for June 23, 2018 at the East Brunswick Elks Lodge.
In order to attain Boy Scout’s highest rank of Eagle Scout, in addition to the 21 required merit badges, a scout must undertake a project to benefit a religious organization, school or community. For his service project, Tyler designed and built horseshoe pits in Thompson Park located in Monroe, NJ. To quote the 1938 Handbook for Scoutmasters, an Eagle Scout is a young man ‘who is qualified to help others as well as take care of himself. His badge is not a decoration, but rather a symbol of knowledge and ability."
Tyler is currently a Senior in East Brunswick High School and plans to enlist in the U.S. Army after graduation.
