Concert - A Partnership in Performance

The New Jersey State Youth Orchestra and the Monmouth Symphony are joining forces in an exciting project on Saturday, February 8, 7:00 pm at the Lake Performing Arts Center in Neptune.  The NJSYO Senior Orchestra, conducted by Ben Ringer, will open the program with works by Mozart, Wagner and Beethoven.  The MSO, under the baton of Roy Gussman, will perform works by Glinka and Samuel Barber.  
   The grand finale will be both groups joining together for Brahms's Academic Festival Overture, conducted by Roy Gussman. 
    Roy is the former conductor of the NJSYO Senior Orchestra and the connection between the two groups doesn't stop there!  Two members of the MSO are currently working with the NJSYO - Chelsey Dokus is the conductor of the Preparatory Strings and Ted Malevris is the Strings Coach for the Senior Orchestra. The MSO is proud to have current members who are graduates of the NJSYO program, making this a true partnership in performance!
