New Jersey Department of Health 2019 Novel Coronavirus Fact Sheet

Our district list does not represent everything that we are doing to prepare for COVID-19.  Behind the scenes we are coordinating with our municipal and state partners.  Last evening, I was on a conference call for the educational sector, hosted by Governor Murphy.  He provided updates on the state’s response to COVID-19.  The Departments of Health and Education also participated.  As of last evening, there were no known cases of COVID-19 in NJ.

I can’t say this enough…wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds or longer, with soap.  Hand sanitizer will only be effective if its alcohol content is 60% or greater.  Cough or sneeze into your elbow.  Properly discard used tissues after blowing or wiping your nose and don’t touch your face.

If you are sick, stay home.  If your children are sick, keep them home.  If you remain sick and have a fever, see your physician or visit the nearest urgent care center or hospital.

As always, the safety and security of our students and staff is my top priority.  I’ll keep you updated as I receive new information.

Have a great evening!
