EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Here is the full text of this afternoon's message from Dr. Victor Valeski, East Brunswick Superintendent of Schools:
Good afternoon, this is Victor Valeski, Superintendent of Schools.
I am so proud of our East Brunswick Community. Today, we kicked off an unprecedented experience…distance learning. It would not have been possible to initiate such a complex undertaking without the support of the East Brunswick Board of Education who endorsed our preparedness for this well in advance of today. The entire EB Schools Team is going above and beyond and I am humbled to be part of this tremendous organization.
Today, Governor Murphy ordered the closure of all schools. While the physical buildings may be closed, we are committed to ensuring instruction continues by making sure those who need a device are able to get one to the extent that we are able to do so. If you are still in need of an electronic device for your child in grades 3-12, we request that you complete this Technology Request Form immediately, if you have not done so already. Devices may be picked up on Tuesday, March 17th from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM ONLY at Churchill Junior High School located at 18 Norton Road. No other schools will be distributing devices.
In addition, we will also provide students and staff an opportunity to retrieve essential items from their schools tomorrow, March 17th, from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM ONLY. We will not be permitted to allow students into schools again after this time. Please ensure your child has all needed materials.
We understand and appreciate how eager students and families are to get access to a device and other materials in order to complete the assigned work. Rest assured that our teachers are providing flexibility in work completion and there will be ample time to complete all instructional assignments.
To all our EB families, thank you for your trust, support and mostly determination. On behalf of all the EB team, we are privileged to provide exceptional educational opportunities for all your children. We will continue to do so in a safe and prudent manner. We will get through this together.
