EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Here is the complete text of Superintendent Valeski's most recent message to the community:
Good Evening East Brunswick Community. This is Victor Valeski, Superintendent of Schools.
East Brunswick Public Schools will remain closed through Sunday, March 22nd and reassess continued closure at that time. All field trips, building activities, rentals, performances, and athletics are canceled. This decision was made as after thoughtful consultation with our partner state agencies and East Brunswick Township.
Our distance learning plan will begin on Monday, March 16, 2020 with our extremely dedicated teachers and administrators. You can expect an email from your child’s Pre-K-7th grade teacher each morning with the daily learning plan. Students in grades 8-12 should log-on to the Canvas Learning Management System for their daily assignments. Your child’s teacher will be available during normal school hours via email. Please be patient as we initiate our distance learning plan Monday morning, as it may take some time to establish consistent communication. As we know, nothing can replace the value of face-to-face instruction; however, we ask for your support by encouraging your child to participate in the learning activities at home.
The District is committed to insuring the overall health and welfare of our students. For our Free and Reduced students, beginning Monday, March 16th, pre-ordered grab-and-go student meals will be available for pick up at select locations throughout the Township. Additional information regarding the grab-and-go meal plan will be sent directly to eligible families from our Child Nutrition Team.
I would like to thank our Technology and Security Teams for distributing over 630 electronic student devices this morning. If you did not previously request a device for your child, but now need one, please complete this Device Request Form.
I would like to express gratitude to our entire Facilities and Custodial Team who are working relentlessly to deep clean and disinfect our facilities and buses.
