EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Here is the full text of a letter from Dr. Victor Valeski, East Brunswick Superintendent of Schools regarding the status of the EB Public Schools and student attendance:
Good afternoon, East Brunswick Community.
This is Victor Valeski, Superintendent of Schools.
I would like to provide an update as new information continues to evolve. At this time, we have no reported or suspected instances of Coronavirus in our schools. We are continuing to take proactive steps to ensure we are prepared for distance learning in the event that schools remain closed. While we are confident that students already have the materials they need to learn at home, we recognize there may be unique instances that require students or staff to enter schools to pick up other essential items from their classrooms or lockers. We are permitting students and staff to gather these essential items on Friday, March 13th from 8 - 10 AM ONLY.
In addition, we would like to provide a device to any student who needs one, to the extent that is possible given our supply of devices. If your child does not have access to a device in order to participate in distance learning, please complete this Device Request Form. This form must be completed by 9 PM tonight.
As a reminder, I promise to update the community by Sunday evening, March 15th with next steps.
It is imperative that you continue to manage your personal hygiene, including washing hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds or more. Please remember to seek immediate medical attention if you or a member of your family exhibits symptoms associated with Coronavirus – fever, cough, shortness of breath.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to plan during these unprecedented circumstances.
