EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Metro Diner, located on Route 18 South in East Brunswick, closed today due to "financial reasons."

According to East Brunswick Councilwoman Sharon Sullivan, the Metro was experiencing financial problems and was forced to close.

The Diner made a splash in East Brunswick by supporting "Rebuilding Warriors - One Dog At A Time," a beloved charity connected to both the East Brunswick Elks Lodge and the East Brunswick VFW #133,  by hosting a fundraiser for the cause and raising enough funds to sponsor two support dogs for a wounded veteran and also a generous amount for New Jersey Elk Camps Moore.

Donations totaled around $13,500 in raised about this time last year.
