EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Aldersgate Outreach Community Center's thrift shop and clothing area will be closed until further notice as a safeguard to the volunteers who work to support these programs. No donations of household goods or clothing will be accepted until the shop reopens.
However, with the thrift shop closed, the East Brunswick food pantry has lost its income stream. The Crisis Center has advised TAPinto East Brunswick that monetary donations would help to continue to secure adequate food resources to support the families who come to the Community Center.
Donations may be sent or brought to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 568 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick NJ 08816 and designated for AOCC.
Financial donations are needed immediately, as a need has already arisen.
Volunteers are also needed for Aldersgate. Sign up through jerseycares.org.
Currently, the food pantry will maintain normal hours, 1:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday. The volunteers understand that many people may be losing their jobs or having their hours cut during the coming weeks, and they want to help. Aldersgate will continue to accept registrations for new clients who are Middlesex County residents and who qualify under state and/or federal guidelines.
As reported to TAPinto East Brunswick, "We also ask that you pray for the health and safety of our volunteers and client families."
