MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ - The Greenway App, an interactive map of Middlesex County's newest natural attraction, will make it easier for residents to use the park and pathway while also experiencing some local businesses.

Middlesex County’s new interactive map enables residents to explore the sites and businesses along the Middlesex Greenway. Now you can locate stores, restaurants, bus stops and more from your favorite mobile device, and also get the latest weather, news and other updates about the Greenway.

“Many people use the Greenway for fun and exercise, without realizing the many opportunities for dining and shopping and other destinations that lie just off the path,” said Freeholder Charles Kenny, chair of the County’s Infrastructure Management Committee.

“By investing in bikeways, walkways and alternate transportation modes like the Middlesex Greenway, we are expanding our recreation opportunities and offering more ways to have fun and stay healthy,” said Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “By adding technology like this new App and interactive map, we are able to expand those recreational opportunities to include local restaurants, businesses and other attractions.”

The Middlesex Greenway is a 3.5 mile portion of the former and historic Lehigh Valley rail corridor that has been converted into a new walk-bike trail that connects the communities of Metuchen, Edison and Woodbridge. The Greenway connects a diverse array of neighborhoods to area parks, schools and shopping, provides a route for alternative transportation,  and preserves an historic rail corridor.
