HELMETTA, NJ - What's better than a cozy pair of warm socks on a chilly winter day? In an effort to help all area residents get that snug, toasty feeling this winter, Helmetta Mayor Chris Slavicek is holding a community-wide sock drive. Slavicek's goal is to collect 2019 new socks in all shapes, colors and sizes. All of the socks will be donated to a local shelter. Sock donations can be in kids, women's or men's sizes. Donations can be dropped off at the Mayor's Office at 60 Main Street in Helmetta from now through December 24.

"Being at the helm of the community is always a blessing, especially during this holiday season," Slavicek said. "I feel spearheading a drive as such is only a small way to allow our close-knit and caring community come together to help others in need. It wholeheartedly aligns with our motto of small town, big heart."
