EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -- A motor vehicle crashed into the living room of a Buck Road residence Saturday afternoon, leaving the driver unconscious and hospitalized.

According to East Brunswick police, responding units found that the 2004 GMC van had driven fully inside the structure. The residents of the Buck Road house were not home at the time of the crash. The driver, identified as Ruben Hrycyna, 47, of South River, was trapped inside the vehicle. After being extricated, Hrycyna was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. He was unconscious but stable, according to police.

The Fire Department (District 1), PSE&G and building inspector were dispatched to the scene, where the investigation was ongoing as of Saturday evening. Special Operations and Investigative Division personnel responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.

According to police, witnesses at the scene stated that the driver made an abrupt K-turn on Churchill Road, then proceeded toward the Buck Road house, at which time a loud crash was heard. The 2004 GMC ended up in the living room area and basement level.
