EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - As the residents of the township continue social distancing, with many limiting outside time and shopping, the East Brunswick Police Department has taken a strong stance against those who litter, especially when litter is comprised of disposable PPE gloves and masks.
In a release from the EBPD today, Chief Frank LoSacco stated, "Many people across New Jersey are wearing protective gloves and masks while grocery shopping.
While the East Brunswick Police Department strongly supports and encourages this, it is very unfortunate that some people are taking the masks and gloves that they are using to protect themselves and simply throwing them on the ground.
This is careless and selfish and puts others at risk.
The East Brunswick Police will be actively patrolling and issuing summonses and anyone found discarding materials on the ground.
