EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -- South Plainfield rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat the East Brunswick boys basketball team, 53-50, on Wednesday.

Freshman forward Jalen Pichardo scored a career-high 25 points for the Bears (11-12), who led, 24-16, at the half before the Tigers came back with an 18-11 showing in the third quarter to come within one.

Nobody else scored more than four points for East Brunswick, which has one more regular season game, Saturday at home against Ridge, before the state tournament begins on Tuesday.
