EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -- The East Brunswick boys soccer team advanced to the the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament finals with a 2-0 victory over New Brunswick in the semifinal round on Tuesday.

Zane Taha scored one goal and assisted on one by Lewen Trussler for the fourth-seeded Bears (13-4-1). Trussler's goal six minutes into the second half broke the scoreless tie. New Brunswick, the eighth seed, had knocked out top-seeded Monroe in the quarterfinal round.

Ryan McSwieney made 10 saves as East Brunswick, the defending county champion, posted its 10th shutout this season. South Brunswick will play East Brunswick for the GMC Tournament championship Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Sayreville.
