EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -- The East Brunswick girls basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak, evened its record on the season and avenged an earlier loss to J.P. Stevens with a 49-33 victory Tuesday night.

Brianna Sliwinski scored 16 points for the Bears (7-7), who outscored the Hawks, 14-6, in the third quarter to take a 38-25 lead. J.P. Stevens had beaten East Brunswick, 45-36, on Jan. 2.

Erin Cosio scored 11 points and Tamea El finished with eight points for East Brunswick, which only had two points from the foul line but sank 22 field goals.
