PISCATAWAY, NJ -- The East Brunswick girls soccer team broke through after a scoreless first half to defeat Piscataway, 1-0, on Monday.

The Bears (9-2) scored their only goal when sophomore forward Kayla Reed converted a helper from junior forward Julia Gill into a second-half tally.

Junior goalie Ariel Salaman made three saves for East Brunswick, which outshot Piscataway, 8-3. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bears, who defeated Piscataway for the second time this season.
