WOODBRIDGE, NJ -- The top-seeded East Brunswick girls soccer team defeated Old Bridge, 1-0, to win the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament Wednesday night at Woodbridge High School.

Kayla Reed scored with 29 minutes left in the second half with an assist from Isabella Martillo to break the scoreless tie and enable the Bears to win their 36th GMC Tournament crown in the 42-year history of the conference.

East Brunswick (15-2) has defeated Old Bridge three times this season, all by scores of 1-0. It was the Bears' 12th shutout this season. Ariel Salaman made four saves for EB.

The game was the second matchup between East Brunswick and Old Bridge in the GMCT final in the last three years. The teams shared the county title in 2017.
