LIVINGSTON, NJ - A unique exercise program entitled “Rock Steady Boxing,” which is based on training used by boxing professionals that has been adapted for people with Parkinson’s disease, will now be available at the Center for Health and Wellness at the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center (BHACC) located in Livingston.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this unique and evidence-based program to our community,” said Diana Toto, program director. “Our trainers are certified to offer Rock Steady Boxing training classes to individuals with Parkinson’s disease who live in the area.”

According to BHACC, the Rock Steady Boxing Method was developed in Indianapolis over the course of seven years and launched in 2012 to share the Rock Steady Boxing Method with other people who are fighting back against Parkinson’s. The training method centers on promoting muscle and neurological triggers that are helpful in combating Parkinson’s.
