EAST RUTHERFORD,NJ ~ As thousands of students graduate from colleges and universities all over the country, one local institution of higher education’s graduating class got a rocking surprise . As Fairleigh Dickinson’s class of 2017 marched into Metlife Stadium, they had no idea, they had won a contest Bon Jovi hosted to have the band sing at their graduation.
“I had written a song for a commencement I was giving, since then it turned in to a record on our new album Reunion, so we are going to pop up and surprise the school who had the most votes to get us to come” Jon Bon Jovi told the crew on Good Morning America moments before the ceremony began.
While the surprise remained a secret up until the actual performance, Bon Jovi appeared on Good Morning America giving only a small clue as to where he was about to perform. A video appeared on the screens at Metlife, where BonJovi announced he was crashing graduation. Shortly after photos began popping up all over social media as over three thousand students were in attendance. The song, Reunion, is full of encouraging lyrics after which, Bon Jovi himself, shared life wisdom.
