SANTA CLAUS TO VISIT CEDAR KNOLLS FIREHOUSE AND LIGHT THE CHRISTMAS TREE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH

On Saturday, November 30th, Santa Claus and a few of his elves will be on hand to welcome all the residents of Hanover Township to the Cedar Knolls Firehouse for its 5th annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. This event is sponsored by the Cedar Knolls Fire Department & First Aid Squad and the CKFD Auxiliary Members group.

Santa will arrive on a fire truck at 6:45pm and he will be lighting the 84 ft. tall Christmas tree on the front lawn.  The Christmas tree is decorated with over 5,000 energy efficient LED color bulbs and strobe lights, all patiently placed by the volunteers that took over 48 hours to prepare.  After the ceremony, Santa will be available to meet with all the children, take photos, and his elves will pass out candy canes. Starting at 6:15pm, light refreshments will be served, and holiday music will be played to entertain the crowd.

“The countdown to the lighting of the tree is something we look forward to each year.  This year is truly special as we celebrate 100 years of volunteer service.  As we welcome the community to our event, we ask everyone to remember that the holidays are a time for peace, love, and hope,” said Committee Chairman Craig Vagell, Jr.  The tree will remain lit until January 5, 2020.

Parking is available on local side streets.  Mountain Avenue will be closed at Ridgedale Avenue and Cedar Road beginning 4:00pm that day stated Jessica Sainato, Co-Chair.

Please come and welcome Santa Claus and the start of the Holiday season.
