Cheer Pride Awarded D2 Summit Bid

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Whippany, NJ – Cheer Pride All Stars is proud to announce that its Senior Level 2 All Star team has earned a bid to compete at the D2 Summit National Championships in Orlando, FL. The D2 Summit is an invite-only, national championship where teams from across the country will face-off at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida from May 12th-14th.

Cheer Pride’s Senior 2 team, dubbed “Iconic,” won the At-Large bid after their high-scoring, exciting performance at the Encore Championships in Richmond, Virginia. Cheer Pride placed second in their division and clinched the bid over more than 75 teams of all levels.

Cheer Pride’s Senior Level 2 team is made up of 14 female athletes from the North/Central NJ area, ranging in ages from 11-16. The girls worked extremely hard together to overcome many challenges and obstacles throughout the season to reach their ultimate goal. The majority of this team started with little to no experience 2 years ago, and now they are competitive athletes contending with the best teams in the country.  They will be competing against around 40 other Senior Level 2 teams that have been hand-selected nationwide.

“We are so honored to attend such a prestigious event,” says Cheer Pride owner, Lisa Kretschman. “Only 2% of the nation’s All Star teams receive an invitation to the Summit, so it’s incredibly hard to earn a bid!”

Kretschman and her team learned that they were one of the competition’s bid recipients while watching the Summit bid reveal online, as it was live streamed on Monday night. “The atmosphere in the gym when our name popped up on the screen was just electrifying! We were screaming and jumping around, the kids were crying. It was a moment I will never forget.”

Kretschman says that part of her gym’s success comes from the standards that her program has for safety and proper teaching methods.  “We provide top notch training, and our kids and coaches work so hard. It’s so nice for all of that hard work to pay off!”  Kretschman is no stranger to the Summit. She last attended in 2014 with Cheer Pride’s Junior Level 1 team. “That was an incredible experience for all of our kids and families, so we’re excited to be able to provide that once again.”

Cheer Pride offers training in the sports of gymnastics, cheerleading, and dance. Classes are open to the public! The Cheer Pride staff has decades of experience in coaching, as well as holding numerous safety certifications. Their goal is to grow all of their young athletes to reach their fullest potential. They currently offer cheerleading teams and gymnastics classes for ages 3-18 and Levels 1 to 5 (beginner to advanced). For more information, visit www.CheerPrideNJ.com
