East Hanover Celebrates 12th Annual Columbus Day Parade on Sunday


EAST HANOVER, NJ- East Hanover Township will be celebrating its 12th Annual Morris County Columbus Day Parade this Sunday October 9th.

Each year the East Hanover Italian American Club sponsors the Columbus Day Parade and this year is no different. The parade will begin its march at East Hanover Fire Headquarters at 2:00pm and will complete its tour at Lurker Park.

Lurker Park will be featuring its own festivities throughout the day. Starting at noon, the park will be a haven for savory dishes as they host a Food Truck Festival. The park will also feature rides for the kids and music by the Cameos for all to hear starting at 4:00pm.

“Leading the parade this year as “Grand Marshal” will be Teresa Priolo, Reporter and Anchor of Fox 5 News,” said East Hanover Township’s website. “ She will be joined by “Man of the Year” William Barrett, Esq. of Mandelbaum Salsburg; “Woman of the Year” Karen Casolaro, Founder of Halos for Angels; “Entrepreneur of the Year” Angelo Sansano of Henry O’Baker Insurance Agency; and “Humanitarian of the Year” Father Owen Moran, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church.”

The Morris County Columbus Day Awards Dinner was held on Friday and lauded the 2016 parade honorees. The event took place at the Hanover Manor and featured performances by Tony Fusco with Frank and Friends. The music was a highlight of the event with a special tribute to Frank Sinatra. Tickets for the dinner sold for $100.
