EAST HANOVER, N.J.- The East Hanover Middle School baseball team defeated Ridgedale Middle School in a dramatic fashion on Saturday, with a score of 1-0 to become the Group 2 Morris County Champions. Frank Barisciano pitched a complete game shut out for the Eagles giving up only four hits and striking out six with out a walk. He was aided by his team, who played exceptional defense highlighted by a John Cirelli over the shoulder catch, taking away a would-be base hit.

The lone run came in the bottom of the sixth with one out, when Barisciano drove a base hit up the middle, stole second, giving the team a quality scoring opportunity. John Colegrove then advanced Barisciano with a sacrifice fly. Steven Dorey took to the plate with two outs and came up with a clutch base hit that drove Barisciano home to score the only run in the game.

"The boys had a fantastic year," said Coach Greg Gruzdis. "They were unscored upon in the last three tournament games, which has never been done before," Gruzdis addded.  Congratulations 2018 County Champs. Its banner time.
