EAST HANOVER , NJ- On Saturday June 10, the East Hanover Middle School girls softball team will take the field to battle Lincoln Park Middle School for the final round of the Morris County Tournament. They are defending title champs and with a 20-10 victory over Ridgedale Middle School in the semi-final round Wednesday night, they are ready.
Ridgedale Middle School opened the game Wednesday night with hot bats driving in eight runs in the first.
“Even with a shaky start, giving up 8 runs in the first inning, they tied it up in the third and scored 11 runs in the fifth inning. Our girls showed tremendous resolve,” said head coach Mike Colasurdo.
Colasurdo, an East Hanover Middle School graduate and stand out athlete himself, has coached the team for eight seasons including his first county championship in softball last year. He also coaches girl’s volleyball and wrestling.
The girls will play tomorrow at 12:45 pm, at Parsippany Hills High School with their eyes on the prize of a consecutive championship and a spot in East Hanover Middle School history.
