EAST HANOVER, N.J.- Morris County Wrestling is dominated by East Hanover and Florham Park. Hanover Park High School had an impressive showing at the Morris County Tournament last weekend and so did East Hanover Middle School Wrestlers.

Entering the tournament as the underdogs, they entered 13 wrestlers into the tournament. Ten of them advanced to the semi-final round and eight of them to the finals, a dominant showing for any team in tournament wrestling. Nando Ott and Christian Cesaro both finished in third place with bronze medals. Vincenzo Lavalle,Santino Denise, Joey Borrello,  and captains Massimo Mancini and Anthony Carlucci finished second place and earned silver medals. Santino Rodriguez took first in the 80 lb. weight class. Luca Stefanelli also took first place at 95 pounds and Nick Davino finished first at 130 lb. weight class and county champion. All three first place finishers are first-time champions. Five wrestlers came up just short of the finals, but put forth tremendous effort, contributing to the championship. The team finished with 191 total points, 40 more than second place, Parsippany Brooklawn Middle School and 45 points more than third place rivals and host of the tournament, Morristown Frelinghuysen Middle School.

"They exceeded my expectations, which is not easy to do," said Coach Mike Colasurdo, an East Hanover, stand out wrestler himself, "especially coming in as the underdog." " I could not be more proud of the way our team represented themselves," he added.
