Florham Park Police Blotter


FLORHAM PARK, N.J.- On September 16, 2017 at 8:04pm, Officer Joseph Rega and Officer Conor DeCoursey were dispatched to the Wyndham Hotel on Park Avenue for a report of an intoxicated customer who was being combative. When the officers arrived at the hotel, the manager directed them to the involved individual (Anthony E. Carlesimo, age 48 from Parlin, NJ) who was running in the parking lot towards Park Avenue.

Mr. Carlesimo was apprehended by Officer Rega and placed under arrest. It was determined that Mr. Carlesimo arrived at the hotel intoxicated and was refusing to leave the establishment when asked to leave by management. Additionally he attempted to strike the manager when asked to leave.

Mr. Carlesimo was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with the following offenses prior to being released to a responsible adult pending a Florham Park Municipal Court date:

On September 18, 2017 at 3:08pm, Officer Conor DeCoursey responded to a construction site at 130 Park Avenue due to an employee causing damage to the construction site with a hammer.

On arrival, Officer DeCoursey was escorted to the third floor where he observed the damage and was able to speak to witnesses who confirmed that the employee (Leonel Martinez, age 32, from Plainfield, NJ) had caused damage to the sheetrock walls with a hammer. Mr. Martinez was placed under arrest and transported to Florham Park Police Headquarters.

It was determined that during the investigation, Mr. Martinez provided false information to Officer DeCoursey regarding his identity. His identity was positively confirmed using fingerprints.

Mr. Martinez was processed and charged with the following offenses prior to being released pending a Florham Park Municipal Court date:

  •   Disorderly Conduct

  •   Hindering Apprehension

  •   Criminal Mischief

On September 23, 2017 at 4:27pm, Officer Richard Wronski observed a vehicle almost strike another vehicle as it was traveling on Columbia Turnpike. He observed the vehicle to continue to drive in an erratic manner. Officer Wronski conducted a stop of the vehicle and while speaking to the driver (Argenis D. Acevedo, age 22 from Englewood, NJ) he detected a strong odor of raw marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle. When questioned about the odor, Mr. Acevedo stated he was in possession of marijuana and provided the location of the same to Officer Wronski. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a bag of suspect marijuana.

Mr. Acevedo was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with the following offenses:

  •   Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana

  •   CDS in a Motor Vehicle

  •   Unlicensed Driver

  •   Careless Driving

  •   Maintenance of Lamps
    Mr. Acevedo was processed and released pending a future Florham Park Municipal Court appearance. 

    On September 24, 2017 at 9:40pm while on routine residential patrol, Officer Thomas Belli observed a suspicious occupied vehicle in the Sun Valley complex. Officer Belli approached the vehicle and while speaking with the occupants he detected the odor of burnt marijuana. The driver (Stefania Salerno, age 22, from East Hanover, NJ) admitted she had smoked marijuana in the vehicle earlier in the day.

    A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a bag of suspect marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

    Ms. Salerno was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where she was charged with the following offenses:

  •   Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana

  •   CDS in a Motor Vehicle

  •   Driving While Suspended

    Ms. Salerno was processed and released pending a future Florham Park Municipal Court appearance.
