FLORHAM PARK, NJ- The New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Internal Designers (ASID) recently honored interior designers from across the state at their Design Excellence Awards Gala. Among the recipients was Florham Park’s own Karla Trincanello, who was honored alongside 18 other interior designers.
The ASID believes that design transforms lives. The organization’s Chapter’s Design Excellence Award rewards the designers who have gone above and beyond in their style and work in design. Local designers would submit their designs in both residential and commercial sectors for judging. There were 11 categories on the residential side of things, that ranged from single space submissions to historic preservation projects, and seven categories on the commercial side, that represented submissions from retail and showroom design to government and institutional.
"Successful entries demonstrated exceptional design and positive impact on life and the human experience in keeping with ASID's mission," said Anna Maria Mannarino, Allied ASID, President of the New Jersey Chapter. "The Design Excellence awards reinforce the ASID commitment to important design principles."
The ASID prides itself on a legacy of 85 years leading the industry of interior design. The judging panel for the awards consisted of distinguished and award winning members from around the country. Each submission was based off of the submissions effectiveness, functional use of space, scale and proportion, color and composition, innovative use of materials, creativity, effective use of lighting, sustainable design principles and the use of Universal Design principles.
Whether the projects are big or small, new age or historic preservation, or out of the box all together, the ASID rewards excellence wherever it is found. This year, that includes Karla Trincanello and Florham Park.
