EAST HANOVER, NJ – Saturday was filled with blue skies and bright sunlight. But nothing could outshine the smiles at Hanover Park High School commencement.

The ceremony celebrates the 61st graduating class to don the cap and gown for the traditional Saturday afternoon graduation "at the park", complete with  processional held in the court yard area. Members of the Board of Education, faculty , family , students filled the lawn followed by a sea of black and white caps and gowns.

Class president Lindsey Schiffner greeted the graduates and their families, followed by class valedictorian Monica Chen. Both spoke with confidence and gratitude for the exceptional education they received at Hanover Park and the foundation of opportunity for a bright future. After the chamber singers delivered John Mayer’s Waiting on the World to Change, salutatorian, Derek Saul addressed the graduates encouraging grasping  the exciting  future awaiting this senior class. Superintendent of Schools, Carol Grossi offered remarks and Principal Callanan presented the class of 2017, followed by Board of Education President and long time staff member, Ernest Eveland who delivered  diplomas to the graduates.

Caps were tossed high in the air as the recessional signified the successful graduation of the senior class.
