EAST HANOVER, NJ- Hanover Park's Dom DiFrancescatino, only a sophomore,. already has two MCT wrestling titles at 106 lbs and 113 lbs . By winning the 113lb championship on 1/28/17 he helped the Hornets earn a 2nd place finish in the MCT held at Mt Olive.
Dom has been wrestling for eight years and attributes the time in the programs before he entered Hanover Park as being very helpful in his development. Being a wrestler is very demanding and time consuming, the training and maintaining of weight is a daily requirement.
Dom's dad has been a role model for him and his two younger brothers. He is excited about the upcoming Group 2 sectionals and the state team and individual matches. Dom has been able to also receive a lot of help from his teammates and the strong tradition of Hanover Park wrestlers who have been successful for many years, including his Head Coach James Lavalle who won three state championships himself.
He has not decided what college he would like to attend, but his favorite team is Iowa. With the regular season now finished Dom and his teammates will try and win Hanover Park's third sectional title in four years and try to improve on the team’s state ranking in New Jersey, which currently stand at #10. Dom also finished seventh in the 113lb weight class early this season in the Beast of the East event, that had wrestlers from the northeast region . His favorite class is Law and he loves to collect shoes, along with listening to Revolution when he works out.
