East Hanover N.J. : During a 24 hr period the Hornets hosted two MCT games and the nation’s number one wrestling team. Hanover Park boys basketball defeated Roxbury for the second time this season 80-57. The Hornets trio of Jandoli, Winschuh and Boeckel scored 72 of the team’s 80 points and combined for 11 three pointers. Hanover Park built a 41-31 halftime lead and with the win improved to 12-5.

The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 17-10 first quarter lead and held off Butler to win 54-36. Alexa Petrozzino scored 16 points on 5 three pointers and Megan Macaluso chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds . Both the boys and girls were in action for the next round of the MCT this weekend. Boys were at Morristown and the girls were home versus Mendham.                                                                                                                                         Hanover Park wrestlers entertained Blair Academy, ranked first in the nation on Friday Feb. 3. The powerful Blair team was too much for the short handed Hornets to handle. Sean Conley and Giancarlo Dellanno did earn victories in the 62-6 loss. Hanover Park was missing two of their top wrestlers Nick Raimo and Rory Deluca who were unable to wrestle due to injuries.
