EAST HANOVER, NJ- Hornets basketball that has a combined record of 42-8, put on quite a show on Monday, February 27th as the boys defeated Science Park 83-53 and the Lady Hornets also played Science Park winning 41-4.

Joey Jandoli scored 19 points as Hanover Park jumped out to a 46-28 lead at halftime. Coach Todd Hartman was able to give his entire squad playing time as the team secured its 20th win of the season and their eighth victory in a row. The potent Hornets offense, which is averaging over 70 points a game, topped the seventy point mark for the 16th time this season.

The Lady Hornets 22-2 used their defense to totally control Science Park and limited the Chargers to 2 points in each half. Senior Alexa Petrozzino had 10 points and four steals and Coach Doug Wear was also able to give playing time to all his players in the convincing win. Defense has been Hanover Park's strongest ability all season as they allow only 30 points a game.

Both teams will continue playing in the North Jersey Sect. 2 Gr 2 brackets on Wednesday, March 1st at home.

Hanover Park wrestling moves on to Atlantic City on March 3rd and 4th, with six individuals dreaming of becoming a state champion. Sophomore Nick Raimo is the number one seed at 126lbs and his brother, senior Lou Raimo, is a 9th seed at 132lbs. Fellow senior Rory Deluca earned an 11th seed at 195lbs. Two juniors, Matt Liberato 160lbs and Sean Conley 138lbs, are looking to make a run along with sophomore Dom DiFransecantoino at 113lbs.

These Hornet wrestlers are well tested as Head Coach James Lavalle has put his team against many of the elite programs this past year.
