EAST HANOVER, N.J.- Hanover Park senior baseball catcher Joe Wiznewski is this weeks Mary Comito of State Farm Athlete of the Week. Wiznewski a two year varsity player has had a good start to the season with seven hits and a batting average of .462 Highlighted in the hits is a grand slam in the Chatham game. He has also walked 8 times and has an on base average of almost .700. All this is being done as he handles a very young pitching staff for Head Coach Doug Wear who saw three senior pitchers from last year graduate.                                                                                                                                                                 Wiznewski's role model is his Dad and he is a diehard Mets fan. His favorite quote is " There's not much to being a ballplayer if you are a ballplayer".  He likes watching Goodfellas and reading Bill Bradley's book, Values of the Game. His grandfather inspired him to first star playing and he considers leadership his best strength. He plans on playing baseball at Ramapo College.
