EAST HANOVER, N.J.- The Hanover Park girls soccer team traveled to Ridge High School on Tues Nov. 14 in a North Jersey Group 2 semi-finals match up vs Westwood . This contest featured two well balanced teams  both on  offense and defense. Right from the start of the game  one could sense a low scoring affair and Westwood took advantage of a free kick from 25 yds out fifteen minutes into the firstt half. Westwood's Megan Wilson connected on a perfect kick that hit the bottom half of the crossbar and deflected in for a 1-0.lead. Both teams had some scoring chances after that but, the Hornets could not break through, as they seemed slightly off on their normally accurate ball control style of play which can also be attributed to Westwood's aggressive and fast defense, HP's best chance to score came with 9 minutes remaining in the game , when a shot inside the box was deflected wide by the Cardinals goalkeeper. The Lady Hornets successful season under Head Coach Erin Shane ended with a 16-6-2 record, but is highlighted by winning thier conference for the first time in school history and gaining the North Jersey Section 2 Group 2 title for the second time.
