EAST HANOVER, NJ- Hanover Park Girls Soccer advanced in the Morris County Tournament following a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory.

The Hornets took the game with two late goals from junior Gabby Barquin and senior Kelly Lehman. Hanover Park started strong and had numerous chances to score in the first half, but Mount Olive scored on a penalty kick to grab a 1-0 lead going in at half time.

Hanover Park had lost three games in the past week by one goal, but refused to let history repeat itself with a second half performance that saw the game slip into overtime. Goals in the second half and in the first period of overtime earned the Hornets their fourth victory of the season. Junior goalkeeper Chrissy Cosenzo recorded 10 saves on the night and kept the one goal lead in overtime to see the game through.

Hanover Park's Boys Soccer yielded three second half goals in a 3-0 loss to Chatham. After the 5-0 drubbing of Morris Catholic, the Hornets have failed to score in their last three contests. This has left them with an early season record of 2-4-1. Both teams will be in action again against Madison on Tuesday.
