EAST HANOVER, N.J.-  Hanover Park Lady Hornets softball team defeated Verona 4-2 on Friday,  in East Hanover and now  meet conference rival Parsippany for the fourth  time this season. HP has won 15 of it's last 16 games and there record stands at 24-6 for the season.                                    

Senior pitcher Jessica Miller earned her 50th career win, beating Verona and also had a key hit to give the Lady Hornets the lead in the sixth inning. Nicole Miller and Tori Lupo had two hits and Gianna Tito drove in two runs.  With the score tied 1-1 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, senior Amy Petrovich singled and Nicole Miller bunted for a hit. Jessica Miller then gave Hanover Park the lead 2-1 with a single to centerfield. Dara DiMaiolo and Tito also singled to up the lead to 4-1. Verona threatened and had the tying runs on base, but Jessica Miller closed the door and HP now meets Parsippany in Parsippany on Tuesday. The  winner advancing to the Group 2 semi-finals.
