Hanover Park Sports Round Up: Boys Soccer Wins, Girls Soccer Falls, Volleyball lose Fifth Straight Match

EAST HANOVER, NJ- Hanover Park boys soccer snapped a five game losing streak on two second half goals from senior Jack Camporeale and Andrly Zaltsman in their victory over Morristown-Beard. The Hornets took the game 2-1. Goalie Charlie Polk shutdown Morristown-Beard in the second half and led Hanover Park to its comeback victory. With this win, the boys improved their record to 3-7-1 with the next game away at Parsippany.

The girls soccer team also played at Morristown-Beard, but was on the losing end of the familiar 1-2 score line. Sophomore Alyssa Viegas scored the lone Hornets’ goal on an assist from Claire Cahill. Hanover Park’s record fell to 5-6-3 as their trend of playing one goal contest continues.

Hanover Park girls tennis is wrapping up their season this week and lost to Kinnelon 4-1. Second doubles team of Chen/Dominguez won their match 6-2,1-6, and claiming the tiebreaker 10-1 to advert being shutout. Kinnelon dominated the singles contests only losing one game in the three matches.

Hanover Park's girls volleyball team was on the road again and dropped their 5fifth straight match to Vernon 18-25, 12-25. The Hornets play twice more this week and will try to get back to their early season winning ways against Morristown-Beard on Thursday and Friday at home vs Chatham.
