MORRISTOWN, NJ -  Lads and lassies, grab your kilts, there are only two days left until the 38th Annual Morristown St. Patrick's Day Parade. As Morristown readies for the thousands of spectators, the parade committee has organized a fantastic lineup. This year's parade has 127 organizations and groups marching through the streets of Morristown.  Spectators will see Irish Dancers, Marching Bands, Dogs of Ireland, Bagpipers, Drummers, Firemen, Senators, Mayors, Former Grand Marshals, Fire Departments, and Police Officers just to name a few. Beginning at 12 noon, Michael Quinn, Grand Marshal will lead the 2017 St. Patrick's Day Parade from Town Hall and progress through a see of green down South Street towards Morristown High School. As the parade makes it was down South Street, parade goers should take notice to the four shamrocks chalked on the street. These shamrocks are better known as the "Infamous Shamrock Four". The painting of the shamrocks are a tradition that began the morning of the first parade in 1992.

Pre- Parade festivities will kick off on the Morristown Green. At 10:15am the Irish Band, The Blarney Session will entertain with musical interludes. Introductory ceremonies will follow at 10:30am with a Twenty-one Gun Salute and the National Anthem sung by Hugh Greenan. Mayor Tim Dougherty will address the crowd before Kelly Morgan talks about Irish Americans in WW 1. Fifth graders from two Morristown elementary schools will perform, followed by Irish Dancers.

The parade provides a family friendly, fun and safe event for all Morris County residents. The event will take place; rain or shine. According to the National Weather Service, there is no rain in the forecast, just chilly temperatures. Temperatures will rise to a high of 28 so don't forget those Irish Sweaters!
