EAST HANOVER, NJ- Hanover Park's girls softball team started the 2017 season successfully with a 19-0 victory over Dover on Monday April 3rd away from home.

Junior pitcher, Jessica Miller, keyed the win by pitching a five inning no-hitter and bludgeoning a grand slam home run. Jessica had seven strikeouts and allowed only two walks in her five inning gem.

Senior Maddie McLaughlin also connected for a home run and drove in five runs. Jessica's younger sister Nicole Miller, a freshman, also had a big day with three hits, two RBI's and three runs scored. The Hornets banged out 18 hits in the contest with another senior, Nikkiann Giaimo, collecting three hits and one RBI.

Hanover Park boys baseball was also victorious on Monday with a 4-3 win over Dover at home. Senior pitcher, Donato Casolaro, earned the win pitching six innings with seven K's. Bailey Dominguez recorded the save, striking out two batters in the seventh.

The offense was led by Tyler Scaff and Jake Berger who had two RBI's each. Senior Michael Christdore had two hits and scored two runs. With the win Hanover Park evened its record to 1-1 after a season opening loss to Pequannock.

Boys Lacrosse has started off slowly with losses to Gov. Livingston 11-4 and Jefferson 16-2. Jake Crane scored twice against Gov. Livingston and Jimmy Fortier has scored in both games. Netminder Sam Ruta has recorded 38 saves in the first two games.

Park golf season opened with a win over Parsippany. Kurt Cerrato( 41), Rob Lotito (44), James Figurelli (44) and Joey DeMartinis (48) score of 177 was 5 strokes better than Parsippany's.
