EAST HANOVER, N.J.- Heavy winds and rain over in the late afternoon Tuesday, caused trees and power lines to fall leaving many with out power in East Hanover , as many as 49K through out the county and into Wednesday. Mayor Joseph Panullo assured residents the Department of Public Works along with power companies were working around the clock to restore power and make road ways safe. It is estimated that a majority of homes and businesses will be restored by Thursday evening. Police departments in East Hanover and Florham Park have charging stations set up. Residents are asked to stay away from downed power lines and report anything immediately.
