EAST HANOVER, NJ- Senior co-captain Alexa Petrozzino is the fourth member of this year’s 25-3 girls basketball team who earned four varsity letters in her career at Hanover Park.

Alexa averaged 10 points per game and Coach Wear and her teammates new to feed her the ball when she was on from beyond the three-point line. She finished with 164 three-pointers in her four seasons at Hanover Park and other teams set their defenses up to try to stop her.

Alexa attributes the success that the Lady Hornets had in winning the North Jersey 2 Group 2 championship to the team chemistry that goes back to playing with fellow seniors Ava Gammo, Alexa Burese and Emily Seymour since East Hanover Middle School were they went 21-0 in their eighth grade year.

Alexa started playing basketball in first grade and, with a shooting instructor, perfected her three-point shooting. She spent endless hours practicing and that paid off in the State game versus Garfield when she had season high of 22 points and six three-pointers.

She also had a superstition of wearing the same socks for each game.

Alexa enjoyed her four years playing at Hanover Park and the accomplishment of winning the New Jersey 2 Group 2 title, along with being part of Coach Wear's 300 career win. She is looking forward to the challenge of playing in college at Susquenna.

Alexa would like to work for a professional sports team.

Her pet peeve is slow walkers and drivers.

She likes to watch basketball, especially UCONN women’s team and the Knicks.

She loves pizza and would like to vacation in California.

She also likes to watch Friends and her best teacher is Mr. Boszko.

Alexa would like to get a good job and have a family and going to college is one of her biggest accomplishments.
