EAST HANOVER, NJ- Monica Chen is a recent graduate of Hanover Park High School. Come August, she is moving on to The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to major in Finance. Her dream job is to be in investment banking.

Throughout her four years at Hanover Park she proved that she is a driven young woman. She was on the tennis team where she earned a Varsity letter all four years and was co-captain. She was also editor-in-chief of the school’s literary magazine and newspaper. She said her biggest accomplishment, so far, has been becoming the editor-in-chief of the literary magazine. She also hopes to publish a fiction novel in the future.

However, not only is she ambitious, but she has a great sense of humor, as well. She stated in an interview that her pet peeve is people not giving her free food. Her vacation spot during the summer is going to be her couch. And the super power she would love to have is reading minds. Why? “Because my back-up life plan is to become an information dealer,” which she laughs off stating, “Just kidding!”

She might jest about certain things, but she does take life seriously. With her favorite quote being, “I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart:  I am, I am, I am,” she’s going to continue to be the determined young woman that she has been for the past four years.
