MORRIS COUNTY CLERK ANN F. GROSSI, ESQ.
HOLDS CISSY LAUREYS SENIOR VOLUNTEER AWARD CEREMONY
On May 22, 2018 Morris County Clerk Ann F. Grossi held the third annual Cecilia “Cissy” Laureys Senior Volunteer Award Ceremony at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township.
The Cissy Laureys Award for outstanding community service recognizes one deserving citizen for his or her outstanding community service to the constituencies that Cissy Laureys championed. “I am happy to celebrate Older Americans Month by holding this annual ceremony in honor of Cissy’s lifetime of dedicated service,” said County Clerk Grossi.
Nineteen Morris County municipalities each nominated an outstanding citizen for consideration for this year’s award.
The nominee from Florham Park was Charlene Sozansky.
A Florham Park resident since 1979, Charlene Sozansky has been involved in the Senior Citizens Club for many years, most recently serving as its president. She’s also served as vice president, Program Chair, and as a member of the building committee for a new Senior Center. Charlene was instrumental in working with the Florham Park Rotary to arrange for free Life Alerts for Borough seniors, and she’s worked with the Mayor, Council and Council Liaison trying to initiate a Senior Transportation Program. Over the years, she has volunteered her time and services to numerous other organizations and to people in need.
Speakers included Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi, Sheriff James Gannon, Freeholder Deborah Smith and Detective Patrick LaGuerre from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Also in attendance were Florham Park Mayor Mark Taylor and Council President Carmen Cefolo-Pane.
