MORRISTOWN, NJ - Nutley Commissioner Steven Rogers announced his run for governor Thursday afternoon at the Madison Hotel in Morristown.
"I'm a taxpayer and I know the burdens we're struggling from," Rogers said during his speech on Thursday.
The Republican will focus on issues such as the struggling local business, high property taxes, drug abuse and improving the state's education system as part of his campaign.
"Ladies and gentleman, when I become governor, no New Jersey resident will be left behind," the Navy veteran and police officer told the crowd.
This is a breaking story. TAPinto will have full coverage later today.
