MORRISTOWN, NJ - The 26th Annual Gingerbread Wonderland at Frelinghuysen Arboretum is a candy lovers dream. Over 179 edible masterpieces have been crafted by schools, scouts, families and individuals for this year's wonderland and craft show.

Submissions feature awe-inspiring, edible gingerbread creations featuring Gingerbread houses, Santa's workshop, Santa's Village, Gingerbread Men, the Flintstones and  vegetable gardens, just to name a few.  Even SpongeBob and Squidward made an appearance at this year's wonderland. According to the rules, all entries must be constructed of gingerbread and all structures must be covered with edible products including bases.

Morristown Brownie Troop 96637, comprised of second graders submitted an entry entitled "Camping Fun".  The theme, Camping at Christmas Time took the group three hours to complete and featured candy covered trees, a bonfire and a candy deer.

DiMare and Jankura Families submitted an entry titled The Lake House. The project, which showcases a weekend in the Adirondacks, has a fisherman fishing on a pond, a woman sitting on a tree stump reading a book and friends sitting by a campfire. According to the project's description, it took thirty hours to complete.

Some other Morristown entries include Christmas in July by the Yorgey Family, Santa's Library by the Bowers Family, Santa's Log Cabin Village by Miles Gormann and Jersey Tomatoes - the Life Cycle created by Melanie Hayes and Sara Brothman. Other exhibits include Randolph's Daisy Troop, the Learning Circle pre - K class from Summit, The Ellis Family of Berkeley Heights, The Knik Family of Florham Park, The Dowling Family of Chatham and The Colella Family of Madison.

Have a favorite gingerbread house? Vote for your favorite exhibit on the way out. But don't wait too long, there are only four more days to experience the Gingerbread Wonderland.  The exhibit is open daily from 10am - 4:30pm and Friday's unitl 7:30pm. Admission is $2 

“For feel-good, holiday fun, Gingerbread Wonderland is a must-see for all ages,” said Jenny Gaus-Myers, Superintendent of Environmental Education at the Morris County Park Commission. “In addition to the exhibit, be sure to stop by the holiday Craft Show on Saturdays and Sundays, and check out a wide selection of beautiful and affordable handmade gifts created by local artists and crafters.”

Travels Update - Long Beach Island Summer Shuttle No Longer A Free Ride

BRANT BEACH - The Long Beach Island Shuttle, an extremely popular service for visitors and residents of Long Beach Island, will have a fee for the first time beginning Memorial Day weekend.
