Have you made July 4 plans yet? Keep in mind the many events happening in your own backyard to help you enjoy the holiday. Florham Park and East Hanover both celebrate in their own unique way.

East Hanover’s annual fireworks will be at 8 pm at Lurker Park on Eagle Rock Avenue (rain date is July 5). Looking for something to cool you off before the fireworks? The FunPlex will be hosting a July 4 party at their Splashplex Water Park, 182 State Route 10. Besides the waterpark, there will be a BBQ, live entertainment and more. For more details and to purchase tickets, visit funplexeasthanover.com.

Wear your red, white and blue to any of the Florham Park celebrations. At 9 a.m. there will be a flag-raising ceremony on at Firehouse #1 on Brooklake Road, a parade starting at 9:30 a.m. at Brooklake Road and Ridgedale Avenue (rain or shine), and then a picnic in the lawn at Borough Hall starting at 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. This is always a well-attended event that includes festive games, contests, rides, music, a petting zoo, and other fun family activities. Mayor Taylor will present the parade trophies, and the Little Red Schoolhouse Museum will be open for visitors from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Florham Park annual fireworks begin at 8:15 p.m. For more information on all of the events, visit fpjuly4th.com.
