EAST HANOVER, NJ- The Hanover Park boys soccer team had a very interesting season. Head Coach Brian Evans had a senior squad returning, but things did not start well for the Hornets and their season record stood at 2-7-1 after a loss to Whippany Park.

Led by senior Jack Campopeale, who led the team in scoring with nine goals and five assists, and senior goalkeeper Charlie Polk, 97saves during the season, the team went 5-0-1 to finish the regular season at 7-7-2, along with a conference record of 4-4-2.

Seniors Christian Mapura (six goals) and Tristian Barquin (five Goals) sparked the offense and senior Steve Schorder anchored down the defense to get the Hornets to .500 for the season.

Hanover Park put up a great battle as the 15th seed against the second seed, Science Park, in a North Jersey Section 2 Group 2 state tournament game but dropped a 3-2 decision that ended their season.
